Program Objectives

Strengthen health information systems to ensure reliable data on HIV and health status.

Improve availability of and access to health care services for young people, especially YPLHIV and vulnerable AGYW.

Ensure access to health education materials on HIV prevention and SRHR.

YPSS

Health (HIV/AIDS & Sexual Reproductive Health)

  • Provides HIV prevention, treatment literacy, and care support for YPLHIV and vulnerable AGYW.

  • Offers psychosocial counseling, mental health support, and capacity-building programs to empower young people to make informed decisions about their health.

  • Conducts community awareness campaigns, sexual and reproductive health education, and advocacy for human rights of YPLHIV.

  • Promotes access to youth-friendly health services and health-seeking behaviors.

PARTNERSHIPS

YPSS has a number of partnership arrangements with several organizations including

UN agencies

UNAIDS, INGOS, NNGOs, NASSOS, EANASO, Y+ GLOBAL

Private Sectors, Government Line Ministries.

YPSS is an active member of the Child Protection Cluster, GBV cluster, and Health Cluster as well as several Technical Working groups such as HIV prevention TWG, CLM TWG, ASRH TWG and Youth Coordination Forum.

OVERALL OBJECTIVE

To unify HIV/AIDS infected young people to respond positively to HIV/AIDS challenges in South Sudan by improving their participation in promoting care and support.

The specific objectives include;
i. Improve educational access for young people living with HIV.

ii. Empower youth with HIV to lead and participate in the regional and global HIV/AIDS response.

iii. Create a safe and discrimination-free environment for young people with HIV.
iv. Promote social cohesion through peace-building.

v. Advocate for the rights and gender equality of young people with HIV.
